Ladurée marks 20 years in the UK with a redesign at Burlington Arcade

FRENCH patisserie house Ladurée is celebrating two decades in the UK, and to mark the occasion, a new concept will be introduced at its Burlington Arcade boutique in Mayfair.

The updated space is a world-first for the brand, maintaining the classic Parisian style, but giving it a contemporary feel with polished brass, bespoke carpentry, clean counters and hand-crafted shelving.

The design brief was all about simplicity and refinement, letting Ladurée’s famous macarons and pastries take centre stage, while outside, the shopfront now dons the brand’s signature pastel green. On the makeover, Mélanie Carron, Group CEO of Maison Ladurée, says: “This boutique feels both timeless and relevant. “We’ve preserved the golden spirit of the arcade, while making space for something a little more modern”.

Designed with Studio Ravn, the new look sits comfortably within Burlington Arcade’s legacy, which is one of the oldest shopping arcades in the world, known for offering some of the best brands globally.

Signalling the French brand’s love of London and the deeper significance of the refresh, Mélanie voiced: “Our first UK boutique opened at Harrods in 2005 – it was the start of our global expansion. The Burlington Arcade renovation is a nod to that journey and a sign of our long-term commitment to London.”
